Who We Are

The Local, State and National Organizations

The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic organization that informs and empowers voters and advocates on key public issues.

When you join the local League of Women Voters you also become a member of the League of Women Voters of California and the League of Women Voters of the United States, which has more than 700 local affiliates nationwide. Your dues support the League's work at all three levels.

Find out more about the California League (lwvc.org) and national League (lwv.org) by visiting their websites.

Looking to the Future

Leagues throughout the US are changing to more adequately defend democracy in the 21st century. The following link will take you to two videos that show how the national League is guiding state and local Leagues to stay relevant and reach out to new members.

Board of Directors

The work of the League is done through our committees and by our board of directors.

Board of Directors

Our work is focused on positions that are arrived at only after careful study and consensus of all members. How do we decide where we will focus our efforts and where we stand on issues that are of concern to our communities?
